What Does a Mobile Officer Do?

  • Vehicle Inspections: Perform daily and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the Mobile Unit is in safe condition.
  • Risk and Compliance: Implement effective risk and compliance measures.
  • Client Services: Facilitate the provision of client services at service points.
  • Operate Equipment: Use specialized equipment in both front and back office as needed.
  • Drive Mobile Unit: Drive the Mobile Unit to service points and ensure it is set up on time.
  • Assist Clients: Help clients, including those with disabilities, to embark and disembark the Mobile Units.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with Regulations: Follow all relevant Civic Services frameworks.
  • Resource Supervision: Supervise both human and physical resources within the unit.

Education– Undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Business Administration, Administrative Management, Operations, Human Resources, Business Management (NQF Level 6)
– NQF Level 7 qualification in Bachelor of Administration, Business Administration, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Public Management, Operations, Human Resources, Business Management, or Bachelor of Arts with majors in Industrial Psychology and Public Administration (advantage)
Experience– One (1) year clerical experience (advantage)
– Experience in client and customer service (advantage)
Knowledge– Sound knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
– Basic knowledge of Public Service Regulations
– Basic knowledge of Civic Services operations and prescripts
– Basic knowledge of Human Resource Regulatory Framework
Licenses– Valid driver’s license (Code 10)
– Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
