We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Marine Advisor II
Job Location: Akwa Ibom (Offshore)
Employment Type: Contract
Main Functions
Responsible for ensuring safe and smooth vessel movements, including gas carriers and condensate tankers. Role involves managing and supervising essential marine service contractors like tugboats and port service providers.
Task and Responsibilities
In addition to Level 1 duties, Level 2 responsibilities include:
- Offering guidance in job preparation and writing procedures
- Leading Risk Assessment processes
- Serving as offshore representative for marine matters, advising the Lead Drilling or Completion Supervisor
- Conducting debriefs and filing post-job reports
- Handling rig move operations
Qualifications and Skills
- A University Degree is mandatory, with 8 to 24 years of experience
- Must have led at least 10 Jack Up rig relocations at platform operations
- Must hold a Master Mariner’s license
- Previous marine experience as a senior officer is required
- Experience in company operations teams is an added advantage
- Should have conducted inspections for marine equipment on rigs
- Candidates lacking all criteria may still be considered based on relevant experience
- Must demonstrate strong commitment to safety (“Nobody Gets Hurt” culture)
- Must be highly familiar with current large tanker mooring techniques and best practices
- Must understand Operational Integrity Systems, particularly oi 8-1
Specific Requirements:
- Senior officer-level marine experience – required
- Master Mariner certification – required
- Familiarity with company operational systems – preferred
- Experience in moving Jack Up rigs and managing support vessel activities offshore
- Prior work in rig inspection related to marine systems
- Strong understanding of safety systems and injury prevention
- Advanced knowledge in tanker mooring operations and related industry standards
- Proficient in Operations Integrity Systems, especially oi 8-1
